About the Classical Guitar Society

The Classical Guitar Society of Calgary was founded in 1974 as a registered non-profit organization.  Our aim is to serve the general public and classical guitarists by providing a forum for listening, learning, performing, and teaching.

Our mission is to encourage the appreciation for, and to foster the development of, the classical guitar because we love its sounds and music.

The Society arranges an annual concert series featuring internationally acclaimed guitarists and outstanding Alberta performers.

Local guitarists and interested auditors are welcomed to attend master classes given by these performers.

A variety of less formal performance opportunities are regularly organized by the society for developing players.
